Headington, to the east of Oxford city centre, is one of the most innovate square miles in the world. It is home to leading centres of scientific research such as the University of Oxford’s Medical Sciences Division at Old Road Campus – location of The Jenner Institute, Big Data Institute, and the Target Discovery Institute – and major research-intensive hospitals – including the John Radcliffe, Churchill, Nuffield and Warneford as well as research centres at Oxford Brookes University.
Linked to these world-class centres of research, there are several organisations and centres based in Headington that are focused on supporting innovation in digital health and life sciences. These organisations have joined together to form the Headington Science Cluster.
